This webinar will focus on strategies by which lawyers, physicians, social workers, nurses, and other professionals can assist clients/patients and their families in facilitating conversations relating to advance planning. The session will feature the following nationally renown faculty: Ira Byock, M.D., Director of Cancer Survivorship and Palliative Care at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center; William Colby, Esq., Senior Fellow, Law and Patient Rights, The Center for Practical Bioethics. Mr. Colby represented the family of Nancy Cruzan in the first right-to-die case heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. Elizabeth Clark, PhDm, Executive Director, National Association of Social Workers, the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. Dr. Clark’s clinical expertise is in psychosocial oncology and end-of-life care; and Nathan Kottkamp, Esq., Moderator, McGuireWoods, LLP, Chair of NHDD, who has lectured and written extensively on the subject of advance directives.
