City of Hope Project Seeks Applicants

Applications for participation in an innovative educational project sponsored by the City of Hope called the ACE Project -- Advocating for Clinical Excellence in Palliative Care, are now being accepted. The project is seeking a broad representation of participants - social workers, psychologists, and spiritual care providers - who work in a variety of settings - hospitals, hospices, nursing homes - and who care for patients across the life span. Applicants from diverse backgrounds and whose institution serves diverse populations are especially encouraged to apply. This endeavor seeks to improve the care of of those who are seriously ill and dying. This NCI-funded study seeks to enhance the advocacy and leadership skills of competitively-selected psychologists, social workers and spiritual care professionals through an innovative transdisciplinary educational experience. Four annual courses will be held followed by a Reunion Conference in October 2010 that reunites all past participants and faculty to disseminate findings, share lessons learned and strengthen participant change efforts.
