Applied Clinical Research

From it's inception, the Coalition has used research methods to gather information about what individuals and families need as they are confronted with the inevitability of death.  Health care providers can provide excellent palliative care only if they understand what their patients' needs are, not simply in the physical realm but in the psycho-social and spiritual as well.  Health care providers, too, have a wealth of experience that can inform and shape the practice of their colleagues with less exposure to end of life care concepts.

Coalition research projects have been oriented towards identifying needs of patients, families, and health care providers and of illuminating successful practices that can improve palliative care services throughout our health care system.
