Coalition Member Hospitals Receive National Recognition

December 16, 2008

St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Palliative Care Acute Care Program, Henderson, Nevada and Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, New York, are recipients of the 2008 Quality in Palliative Care Leadership Award sponsored by the National Consensus Project (NCP).  St. Rose, a part of Catholic Healthcare West, and Lourdes, a part of Ascension Health, are members of Supportive Care Coalition.  Each was recognized for its Palliative Medicine Program.

Only nine programs in the United States were selected for this prestigious award.  Representatives from each winning organization are invited to attend either the AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly in March, or the NHPCO 24th Management and Leadership
Conference in April, 2009, to receive the award and participate in a panel presentation.  Awardees also will be honored with a cash award of $2,500 to further expand and support palliative care efforts.

Congratulations Ascension Health and Catholic Healthcare West!  For more information, visit www.aahpm.org/pdf/ncpawards.pdf.
