Hospitals Receive National Recognition

St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Palliative Care Acute Care Program, Henderson, Nevada
and Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial
Hospital in
Binghamton, New York,
are recipients of the 2008 Quality in Palliative Care
Leadership Award sponsored by the National Consensus Project
(NCP).
St. Rose, a part of Catholic Healthcare West,
and Lourdes,
a part of Ascension Health, are members of Supportive Care
Coalition. Each was recognized for its Palliative Medicine
Program.
Only nine programs in the
United States were selected
for this prestigious award. Representatives from each
winning organization are invited to attend either the
AAHPM/HPNA Annual Assembly in March, or the NHPCO 24th
Management and Leadership Conference in April, 2009,
to receive the award and participate in a panel
presentation. Awardees also will be honored with a
cash award of $2,500 to further expand and support
palliative care efforts.
