Awards and Opportunities

Many foundations and national organizations throughout the country are committed to supporting end-of-life care research and program development. Throughout the year these organization offer grants, awards and other opportunities to further palliative and end-of-life care.  The following is a list of opportunities that have been brought to our attention and are sorted by application deadline.

Social Work Fellowship in Palliative and End-of-Life Care

Sponsored by Beth Israel Medical Center

A postgraduate Social Work Fellowship in palliative and end-of-life care is available through the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care (DPMPC) at Beth Israel Medical Center. Designed to develop role models, leaders and mentors, the fellowship was established with a grant from the Open Society Institute Project on Death in America (PDIA). Reclaiming Our Priorities - 2008 AACN President's Chapter Awards
Applications accepted through February 8, 2008
Sponsored by American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN)

The President’s Award for Chapters recognizes the chapter or chapters that best exemplify the annual theme of the AACN President.  Successful applicants will demonstrate how their chapter has exemplified President Dave Hanson’s theme, “Reclaiming Our Priorities,” throughout the year.  Chapters will be evaluated on programs and activities that were completed from July 1, 2007 to date of submission.  This recognition is open to all active AACN chapters in good standing who have not received this award in the last three years. Up to $4,000 will be awarded to one or more chapters.  For more information, please visit www.aacn.org
